Abstract
While standard methods exist for proportioning concrete mixtures, much of the concrete commercially produced is proportioned on the basis of past experience with local materials. Regardless of the particular procedure used for mix proportioning, that process can be made more rapid and reliable through the use of computer methods. The development of a computer-aided concrete mix design technique, based on factors and principles determined by the user, can benefit the concrete producer, the designer and specifier, and the contractor.
