  • What is Computational Technology Resources?
Computational Technology Resources is an online resource for papers and chapters published by Civil-Comp Press and Saxe-Coburg Publications. The papers and chapters cover a wide range of topics in "computational technology".
  • How many articles are there in the resource?
Currently there are over 5500 papers and over 350 chapters listed. These come from over 100 different publications. Over 7500 different authors have contributed to the articles in this resource.
  • I am an author, can I get my article free of charge?
No, becuase if you attended a Civil-Comp Conference and your paper appeared in the conference proceedings you will have been issued with a copy of the conference proceedings at the time of registration. If you contributed a chapter to an edited book published by Saxe-Coburg Publications You will have received at least one complimentary copy of the finished book. The income from the sales of articles on this site is used to cover the expense of scanning and abstracting older volumes as well as the running costs of this website.
  • I have spotted an error or typographical mistake.
Computational Technology Resources welcomes notification of errors and typographical mistakes in its online data. Please contact Computational Technology Resources by email and we will try to correct the errors as soon as possible.
  • What is the resolution of the PDFs?
All PDF files are either produced from original production source material or are 300 dpi scans with optical character recognition (OCR) information embedded. In most cases this allows searching for and highlighting of text fragments.
  • What size are the PDFs?
The size of the files varies from 100Kb to 20Mb or more. The size of the PDF is mentioned if you follow the "purchase full-text" links for each article.
  • Can I see some example articles?
Try the following links for two examples: a 2008 paper and a 1998 paper.
  • How do I find an article?
If you know which publication the article appeared in, you may want to browse through the lists of publications. Otherwise we suggest you use either the search mechanism or the alphabetical list of contributing authors.
  • Do you provide a full-text search of the articles?
No. The search mechanism finds search strings amongst titles, authors, affiliations, keywords and abstracts of articles.
  • Are abstracts available for all articles?
Abstracts or summaries are available for all articles where electronic delivery as a PDF is also available. Computational Technology Resources is working on a scanning program to make electronic delivery available for all early publications. Abstracts and summaries will be added at the same time as electronic delivery.
  • Are all articles available for electronic delivery?
Unfortunately electronic delivery is not yet available for all articles. Computational Technology Resources is working on a scanning program to make electronic delivery available for all early publications. If electronic delivery of a paper you want is not yet available, you will see a "request" link. This link will lead to a form where you can request that we bring the scanning of this paper forward. We will contact you when we have scanned the requested paper.
  • I cannot find an article.
If you cannot find an article through the search mechanism, please try alternative spellings of the author names. For example, omit accents and try again. If all else fails, please contact us.
  • How do I reference an article?
On the webpage for each article, a grey box appears with the correct bibliographic reference to this article.
  • What is the price of an article?
The price per article varies but is the same for all articles within each publication. A typical article price is £20 (20GBP).
