Abstract
The objective of this paper is to present an overview of progress made in life-cycle reliability-based technology for design and maintenance of structural systems in general, and of bridges in particular. Emphasis is placed upon system reliability, time-dependent reliability, lifetime maintenance, and life-cycle cost.
