Abstract
In this lecture some of the most recent developments of importance within the field of computational stochastic structural mechanics and analysis are discussed. These concepts allow a rational treatment of statistical uncertainties involved in structural analysis and design. Particular emphasis is put on the improvement of the computational efficiency. Selected subject areas, such as Monte Carlo simulation techniques, nonlinear stochastic dynamics, random eigen-value problems and stochastic finite elements are treated in detail.
