Abstract
The advance in OOP offers a new dimension in system modelling within the context of building environment. This paper introduces the Energy Kernel System (EKS) and focuses on the development of a flexible program building infra-structure which offers:

A generic software structure which allows the creation of a wide range of state-of-the-art building and plant system models;

A dynamic model construction platform which allows a simulation program to be built with minim number of component modules required and therefore eliminates the burden of redundant components.
