Summary
The paper is focused on the modelling of the initial equilibrium state (form finding) of cable-membrane structures using the dynamic relaxation method. The practical applicability of the dynamic relaxation method will be presented. Four solution strategies with kinetic damping are used. First, the applicability of the procedures will be tested on basic examples that can be solved mathematically. Furthermore, the processes will be used for analysis of complex cable-membrane structures. Specific procedures will be compared with each other and their advantages and disadvantages will be discussed.
