Abstract
In the process of the production of technical documentation for reinforcement, more time is usually spent on direct work for technical documentation as for solving technical problems. Computer aided work can shorten this time, but, on the other hand, it might also be a risk. The final user loses the control over the process and has no influence on the course of work. The knowledge based system ARCAD 386 tries to offer new possibilities for better work: higher level of the user's creativity, quick consideration of all changes in instruct ions and standards, higher level of reliability, and better control over the process. The system ARCAD 386 is written in FORTRAN and AutoLISP, AutoCAD is used for graphical environment. The possibilities of the ARCAD 386 system's use in the reinforcement design, and in the production of reinforcement drawings are described in the article.
