Abstract
The development of a knowledge-based system to generate construction schedules as a pre-processor to a project scheduling software is discussed. The knowledge-embedded database system is presented as the approach towards a deeper integration of knowledge-based systems with the traditional data processing systems. The success of this integration is believed to be the key that would give momentum to the prototype to advance into the operational stage. Other approaches undertaken by similar work is compared. The knowledge domain and system architecture for this system is outlined. Further developments towards a deep coupling system is discussed in the conclusion.
