Abstract
A knowledge based expert system for construction scheduling in mid-rise residential buildings is described. The system accepts as an input several basic parameters of the building project and offers a list of activities necessary for its completion, the required labor and equipment resources, and the construction schedule. The operation of the system and the structure of its knowledge base are explained and discussed.
