Abstract
With consideration of the randomness of ground motion and the fuzziness of subsoil and earthquake intensity, this paper deals with seismic responses of large span structures. The roof of JiLin Ice Rink, a prestressed dual-cable system, 60m x 90m, located in the northeast of China, is taken as an example to analyse its fuzzy random responses under strong earthquakes. It is indicated that the roof structure of JiLin Ice Rink will be safe enough in future earthquakes. It is also concluded that the proposed method to analyse fuzzy random seismic responses of complex structures is not only rational but also simple and practical in engineering.
