Abstract
A matrix equilibrium procedure is used to generate a set of vector equations which relate a load vector to a displacement vector and a structure stiffness matrix. A well conditioned stiffness matrix is formed which is then decomposed by Choleski's triangulation procedure. This analytical procedure generates bending moments and relevant stresses required for the interactive design of a medium rise framed structure. The algorithm, MERISE, is then used t o analyse a typical medium rise structure. This software has been developed on a 56K, 3802 Research Machines computer.
