Abstract
The paper gives the historical background to the development of road investment models for developing countries that has been carried out principally at the World Bank and at the Transport and Road Research Laboratory. The recent production of a model that runs on a small (64 K) microcomputer is described. This model, micro-RTIM2, has an interactive user-friendly input routine which makes it particularly appropriate for use in developing countries.
