Abstract
This paper introduces the infrastructure of the Microflo CFD simulation environment, developed at the IES Limited. The theoretical basis is described and particularly the MOTIF compliant graphical user front-end and pre and post processing tools are described in conjunction with the IES "Virtual Environment", which provides an innovative VR solution to the task of CFD modelling as design tool to the engineering community. Features of the Microflo system are further demonstrated through its use in the design projects.
