Abstract
This paper concerns the Sodium Monofluorophosphate (MFP) Corrosion Inhibition System which is providing a revolution in the treatment of corrosion induced deterioration of reinforced concrete. The system is patented and is gaining rapid acceptance particularly in Switzerland where to date over 75,000 m2 of reinforced concrete has been or is being treated on over thirty projects. Balvac Whitley Moran Ltd have brought this technology into the United Kingdom and have already completed several contracts.

The evolution of existing repair and maintenance systems, the research background of the development of the MFP System, the mechanism of inhibition action and benefits to asset managers and a selection of projects completed are described.
