Abstract
The paper reports the design of an isolating composite screen with a core in extruded polystyrene between discontinuous concrete side panels. The efficiency as obtained through in situ testing has been compared with the one, predicted by finite element simulation. The results demonstrate that properly designed isolating screens can constitute an alternative for active vibration isolation of the higher frequency components.
