Abstract
The paper describes an environment based on the object oriented programming philosophy aimed at the development of parallel algorithms for scientific computing.

The use of object oriented programming (OOP) for the development of engineering software is recent. Parallel computing is also in its initial stage of development.

Most research in parallel computing is limited by the complexity of algorithms, mainly due to the limitations of the Fortran language.

The authors believe that programming for multiprocessor computers requires a change in philosophy for the software development cycle. The environment proposed, based on OOP, offers both great flexibility and security for data manipulations and task executions.
