Abstract
The paper is comprised of two parts. The first part summarizes the state-of-the-art of information technology penetration into the field of civil and structural engineering design by reviewing the 49 papers accepted for presentation at the Conference. The second part generalizes over this overview and provides a highly abstracted view of some of the collective decisions that need to be made in order to chart future directions.
