Abstract
This paper describes a fully automatic mesh generation process for arch dams and arch gravity dams.

The mesh can include interface elements at the concrete-rock interface as an option; interface elements can also be specified to simulate vertical construction joints as a second option.

The usual static load cases of self-weight of the dam wall, hydrostatic pressures and temperatures are also generated.
