Abstract
The paper focuses on three distinct special areas of structural optimization which are of actual practical and theoretical importance: form finding of membrane structures by numerical continuation, shape optimization of buckling sensitive structures using extended system methods, and adaptive optimization of topology combining the material approach with parametrized shape optimization.
