Abstract
KTISMA is a knowledge based system that synthesizes the structural model of asymmetrical skeletal buildings made of reinforced concrete. It uses knowledge sources on diverse domains like statics, architecture and economics. It employs variable grain size heuristics and knowledge based optimization on a multilevel reasoning process. It is able to perform a completely automatic synthesis, though the user can modify the system's knowledge sources to fit his or her own preferences.
