Abstract
A synchronised co-simulation is presented that couples train motion, traffic management and traction power flow under a single simulation clock, with power-flow results fed back at every step to constrain train power commands. It enables consistent assessment of timetable decisions together with voltage-limit compliance, regenerative receptivity and substation peak demand in one workflow. The implementation is modular and reproducible, supporting mixed-service operation and allowing performance indicators to be extracted on both train and substation sides without post hoc decoupling. Benchmarking against BS EN 50641 shows close agreement in operational patterns and in voltage and current envelope indicators, establishing a validated baseline for further alignment of energy accounting and for extension to other electrification settings.
