Abstract
To ensure safe train operations, railway operators regularly inspect and maintain track conditions. However, many regional railway operators are unable to adopt dynamic track inspection methods—such as those using track inspection vehicles—commonly used on mainline railways, owing to cost and other constraints. Therefore, our institute started research on methods to efficiently assess dynamic track conditions by using in-service vehicles. In this paper, we introduce various methods for different types of irregularities used to inspect track conditions.
