Abstract
The object of this paper is the development of a digital pattern methodology, within a railway manufacturing company. The proposed methodology involves different Business Units and several expertise; the aim of this approach is to improve the process of identifying products already designed which fully or partly fit what is required by new bids, and to obtain huge benefits in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. The proposed methodology is based on the development of a decision support system and the characterization of the whole train and its components through several key attributes.
