Summary
In this paper some recent developments on optimal analysis of structures are presented. The methods include both static and dynamic solutions where graph products, sub-structuring methods, finite difference methods and manipulating the stiffness matrices are efficiently employed to solve a problem. In all problems the quick solution of tri-diagonal, block tri-diagonal and two-block matrices are utilized to solve the problems. The problems studied are classified as four types including the analysis of regular structures, analysis of near-regular structures, simultaneous optimal analysis and design and a new modal analysis. All problems are studied and detailed in separate parts.
