Abstract
Development of design and simulation software for microcomputers may be difficult where procedures utilize diverse or large data bases. Typical examples might be references to Codes of Practice, design charts and manuals, and in the field of engineering hydrology, use of the Flood Studies Report. Programming experiences of procedures for rainfall, flood estimation and alleviation works design are described with particular reference to the incorporation aspects of the large and varied data base of the Flood Studies Report into program suites.
