Abstract
Site layout planning consists of identifying the facilities needed to support construction operations, determining their size and shape. and positioning them within the boundaries of the site. Dynamic visual aids can facilitate visualisation and interpretation of the site layout problem enabling the planners to identify any possible health and safety problems before construction begins. The objective of this project is to produce a prototype of a construction site layout using virtual reality software. The system will assist planners in creating a safe and efficient site. The project was carried out completely using superscape virtual reality software. The suit of editors provided with the software was used to create the construction site objectives and layout. The final site layout is based on a construction project in Bootle, Liverpool.
