Summary
This paper discusses the automatic assembly planning system for the current digital and intelligent demands of the manufacturing process for trains. Comprehensive research has been carried out into all respects of the manufacturing process from the perspective of practicability, including assembly model expression, assembly relation matrix, assembly evaluation, assembly sequence planning, assembly sequence expression and assembly process simulation. The method of dynamic arrays has been proposed for solving the interference matrix, and the concept of the basic parts and node filter have been introduced in order to obtain a better and faster assembly sequence. Given that the current assembly planning software is expensive and there is no automatic sequence planning features, this paper studies how to customize automatic assembly planning software using ordinary three-dimensional CAD software for secondary development. Eventually, the assembly planning system AMIAssem was developed based on SolidWorks, and the function and performance of the system was verified with a typical gearbox of a train as an example.
