Summary
The paper deals with the water flooding (WF) management in reservoir engineering under multicriteria conditions. In this paper several well-known procedures are tested for the solution of the WF problem in which the rates at producers and injector wells satisfying operational constraints have to be found. The investigated objective functions are the net present value and cumulative injected water during the exploration of the concession period. As a result of multimodal characteristics of the involved functions, a global-local hybrid optimization is developed to better tackle such problems. As the whole process is very time consuming, it is not feasible to use a computationally expensive high-fidelity simulation directly to guide the search. Therefore, data driven surrogate models are built and used in both global and local search stages. The tool developed is employed for one study case and satisfactory results are obtained.
