Summary
Automatic platooning control, utilized in automatic driving in an automobile, is applied to a tram railway vehicle. The performance is examined through numerical simulations on a straight line, curved line, and slope; low friction coefficient rail. In addition the safeties when the wheel rotates idle and when the emergency brake is applied are discussed. The results show the proposed platooning control of the tram is feasible, although further discussion is needed for safety measures.
