Summary
The study of the comfort level of a railway vehicle is one of the most important topics as regards vehicle design. This aspect is much more important if the vehicle is used for the transport of people with reduced mobility. This paper describes the numerical model of the vehicle developed within the CARITAS project, for analysing the comfort quality of the vehicle running on a real track in different operating conditions. In order to make the numerical model more realistic, the coach has been modelled as a flexible body to take into account the effect of its natural frequencies.
