Abstract
The general theory of the exact FEM is presented in the paper for the analyzing purposes of elastic layered beams subjected to the transient dynamic loads. The equations for dynamic stiffness matrices (i.e. frequency dependent stiffness matrices) are given in the previous papers. Some new exact results are presented and the comparisons are made with the results calculated by the general purpose program ABAQUS. The method presented is suitable for the analysis of layered beams because a small number of finite elements is needed in the calculation procedure.
