Abstract
Contracting organisations are increasingly recognising the need for effective communication of reliable information from site to head office. Present manual systems fail to provide the required level of detail and do not provide the information in a timely manner to enable effective control. Despite a growing awareness of construction industry needs by software suppliers this area remains underdeveloped. This paper describes the development of a site data capture and information systems for the small/medium sized contractor. This system is currently in use and proving to be an effective management tool.
