Abstract
The paper discusses the principles used to design schemes for raising, lowering or moving buildings. The methods that have been developed by the author's Company are safe and commercially viable and a number of completed projects are discussed as well as applications not yet realised. The technology adds a new and powerful option for consideration when schemes for the preservation and adaption of existing buildings to new uses are being considered.
