Abstract
Joints are often the governing factor for the design of timber structures. The article describes the development of a joint, based upon steel cast in timber with plastic. The methods are primarly develloped to increase the efficiency of light-weight beams, but its more general application is decribed.

Examples of applications in different types of structures is shown. A picture of new expression in forms for timber structures is given.
