Abstract
A small-scale expert system has been developed to assist in the planning and conduct of concrete-placing operations for slabs-on-ground. Assembly of the knowledge-base has illustrated the complex series of technical and managerial decisions which must be made by the construction professional. The program has considerable educational value through both its development and use. The industrial value of this type of program is discussed.
