Abstract
The paper reports how a 32K Commodore PET Micro-computer was used at the laboratory data processing stage of a study to produce force-moment-curvature relationships of beam elements and how this data was used as material characteristic inputs into a simple computer program on the same machine for the non-linear analysis of portal frames. Developments, applications and implications of the general approach are discussed.
