Abstract
This paper presents a systems approach to the design of water treatment plant. Cost and performance models are developed from available data to demonstrated the feasibility of optimal design. Personal computer simulation has been employed for the preliminary design of a conventional water treatment plant units such as clarifier, filter and sludge thickener in an integral manner. The development of software for application depends on further research and is strongly recommended.
