Abstract
In this paper, we present an application of the theory of fuzzy sets to heat transfer. The application simulates the non-stationary heat flow, and may also be used to simulate the steady case. The results are expressed in the terms of fuzzy numbers and are in accordance with reality. In the case of non-stationary heat flow the phenomenon of the ever growing imprecision of the investigated quantities is apparent, which agrees well with the engineers' presumptions. Nevertheless, the thermal equilibrium is not violated.
