Abstract
The construction of a new bridge interferes with the existent environment. A careful aesthetic study must be done at the initial stage of the design and the visualisation of a 3D model of the structure is the best way to analyse it. As the bridges deck presents a complex shape is difficult to execute a deck 3D model as well as the deck plane representations.

The modelling scheme proposed here identifies the morphological components that define the overall deck shape. This concept was implemented in a computer programme that allows the geometric description of the deck shape, in a morphology of the road direct way, and the automatic definition of the plane drawings, the 3D face model and a 3D FE mesh of the deck, usually required in a bridge design. This programme is then a great support in a bridge design namely in the preliminary and final stages.
