Abstract
We present the implementation of a framework for conducting tests on interactive FE simulations within Virtual Environments (VE's), and a sample concrete implementation within this framework. Our aim is to be able to provide the ability to easily interchange large-scale components in this system - the FEA code, the visualisation code, and the VR hardware support, and thus provide both flexibility in the choice of these components and the ability to compare them. By doing this we can research the possibilities available in real-time interactive investigation of models within Virtual Environments.
