Abstract
In this paper, a control method of the results quality based on the use of error estimators is proposed. These results are obtained using the finite element numerical simulation in non-linear planar structural problems. The origin of non-linearities is large displacements and plasticity of the material.

In order to evaluate the results quality, it is necessary to take into account the different error sources generated by the simulation. For this purpose, and focused only on the discretization errors, three discretization error estimators are defined.

Some examples help the authors to explain the theoretical developments and to define the relationship between the three dlscretization error estimators (spatial, temporal, and global).
