Abstract
The paper presents a method for prediction of the behaviour of a space structure (dense grid) from the knowledge of the behaviour of a space structure that has all the features of the original structure but has a different density of pattern. The model of the structure may be constructed such that it simulates the basic features of the structure as closely as possible. Prediction of the behaviour of a dense grid when it is subjected to a dynamic loading, has been studied. The model is analysed and the results are employed to obtain information about the behaviour (forces, displacements and natural frequencies) of the original structure.
