Abstract
A topology optimization method for truss structures under multiple static loading conditions (MSLCs) is submitted in this paper. In the method, the member force and the cross-sectional area are considered as the design variables and the structural weight as the objective function. The topology optimization problem under MSLCs is mathematically stated as a non-smooth programming problem which is transformed into a smooth one by means of a variable transforming technique. As a result, the solution of the primary problem is equal to the superposition of the solutions of several simple LP problems.
