Abstract
The prediction of frame structures behavior up to and beyond the peak strength requires a nonlinear analysis. The numerical formulation of nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete frames becomes very challenging because of the structure's response beyond the peak strength (the softening response).

A complete generalized formulation of the nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete frames is developed, which allows for the prediction of frames response up to the peak strength and beyond well to any required range of deformation, and can employ any material models and any parameters of nonlinearity.
