Abstract
Laboratory model test results on the permanent settlement of a surface strip foundation on geogrid-reinforced saturated clay due to combinations of static and low-frequency cyclic loading are presented. For the present tests, only one type of geogrid and one type of clay soil were used. Based on the laboratory test results, the variation of the maximum permanent settlement with the intensity of the static load and the intensity of the amplitude of the cyclic load were also analyzed.
