Abstract
With the growing number of private cars on the road, as well as increased noise and air pollution, encouraging passengers to use public transit, particularly the subway system, has become a critical issue in today's world. One of the practical techniques for encouraging people to use the subway system is to reduce passenger travel time. Public transportation planners can employ a variety of strategies to attain this goal, including synchronization and stop-skipping strategies. This study aims to introduce these two strategies and familiarize readers with the model developed to reduce passenger travel time utilizing these strategies and train timetabling. We also plan to filter and prepare smart card data from a real metro network (Tehran metro network) as input data for this model's evaluation.
