Abstract
Increasingly, engineering decisions are based on computed information with the expectation that prototype testing will validate those decisions. Therefore assurance of the quality and reliability of computed information is very important. The discussion focuses on quality assurance procedures in finite element-based numerical simulation of structural and mechanical systems.
