Abstract
Large scale solution methods for nonlinear compressible and (nearly) incompressible anistropic elastic problems are presented. Variational principles are developed with special attention given to (nearly) incompressible materials. A modified augmented Lagrangian method for (nearly) incompressible problems is proposed and an alternative method for solving a nearly incompressible problem via a perturbation method is outlined. Numerical examples are given.
