Summary
A calculation tool that estimates the interference generated by an electrified railway system is presented and discussed in this paper. The calculation method used here is based on a multiconductor transmission line model with ground return. In order to have better accuracy than traditional interference calculation methods, simulation results are post processed with a new calculation tool that includes railway traffic data, allowing us to take into account part of multi-train complexity. A practical example of a multi-train simulation is described and analysed showing capabilities and improvements that can be achieved with this new calculation tool.
