Summary
In 2011 the author invented a variable radius curved track panel for bridge transitions where the angular rotation exceeds the allowable limit in current standards. By 2013 it had been successfully subjected to rigorous modelling and full-scale vehicle-track testing for an application where the vertical angular rotation is 2.5 times the limit and even more is feasible. This paper challenges the standards and considers what new possibilities are feasible.
